Or £16-24 using our own link!
Elvis at CDWow
"Thank you very much"
It has gone up already to 18.24
There are two versions on cdwow a pal one and a ntsc one, the ntsc one is the cheaper of the two and £16.24 with the link.
can't find it on the site
Got my sets (PAL) for £17.99 from sendit.com and £13.99 for the Aloha set. sometimes It pays to pre-order.
Disappeared from CD Wow??
tried searching through the dvd section but couldn't find it
Amazon have just reduced theirs from 19.99 to 18.99. Amazingly I had already ordered and received it and they still refunded me the difference.
Any difference between the regions e.g. which one to go for?
Well given that it is all old NTSC source material ...
Got my NTSC version today and its currently playing. Excellent stuff and an absolute must have for all Elvis fans. 1968 aye, The year before I was born!
Could you lmk if the "It Hurts Me" number is still missing from the Guitar Man/Bordello" skit, please?
Haven't watched ours yet but it is listed in Amazon's tracklist for the set
The track is listed in the booklet as part of that set, but it's missing from both the region 1 DVDs I've got - one was purchased over the web, the other brought back from the US by my brother - the Elvis estate know that they've made an error and are looking into doing something about it!
See the link to my review, and JAMESTALKALOT's comments here
If anybody has a copy that has the song "re-inserted", or learns anything that BMG/the Elvis Estate will be doing about this, I'd appreciate a heads up
(shrug) didnt know that, but not overly bothered by not having 'the closing frames where he has his foot on their back' ...
Considering this was 'made for TV' and shot 36 odd years ago I'm gobsmacked that as much material survived and in as good of condition as this transfer shows ...
It's the whole song that's missing!
Re: picture quality - I thought it was OK... for an Elvis flick! Vertical lines rob the image of any semblance of quality, though
I would imagine there are vast quantities of Elvis footage that will gradually be released at the appropriate moments
yeah picture quality is far from immaculate but much better than I expected I must admit ... guess the confusion stems from reading the link above, as it led me to think that number IS in the set, albeit not entirely complete and elsewhere on the "other disc" ...
"The raw elements of the production number are elsewhere on the DVD set, including the bordello scenes and "It Hurts Me". Takes of the very final portion of "It Hurts Me" (Elvis finishes the song and has his foot on pile of guys he beat up) did not, however, make it into the raw elements on the DVD set."
It Hurts me is included... on one of the two "extras" discs, but without the "foot on the baddies" bit - which has not been included at all. It seems the Elvis estate simply made a fopar and missed out the It Hurts Me track completely from the Guitar Man sequence, and the song listing is therefore simply wrong and misleading!
ah ... so your point of contention is with the tracklisting moreso than the lack of a few seconds of footage being "instream" on that particular disc, gotcha
Well, to be pedantic... the purpose for me posting here was to find out if anybody had received a corrected DVD, or if anybody knew anything new about the issue
For those that brought the PAL version wont there be the 4% speed up?
