I have just brought a Tosh 42WH18 TV and am entitled to a pair of Eltax power tower speakers.
Apparantly they come with a subwoofer "built in". Is this really the case or is it a marketing ploy? (I haven't received them yet.)
Does anyone know: will they do the job for listening to Movies etc, (Matrix, James Bond etc) will they be good enough to listen to my CDs with.

    Hi

There are floorstanders that have built in subwoofers (Definitive Technology (Def Tech) spring to mind) but I wouldnt recommend them as they can be tricky to place correctly. Better to have a separate subwoofer which is likely to outperform the subs built in to the speakers.

But as they´re free, nothing lost by trying them, make sure you set the front speakers to large and no sub in your amps setup menu to get the most out of them.
