Eltax Planos 5.1 front speaker placement question

Hi guys,

I have just bought myself a 42inch Panny Plasma, and also a set of Eltax Planos 5.1 speakers.

The front speakers are designed to be the same height and colour as my screen so that they look part of the system.

I'll be bolting them to the wall near my plamsa, so my question is, should I just put them right next to the screen, or should I move them out to get better sound ? A friend told me they should be at least 8 feet apart, but to be honest I'm a complete sound system noob, so have no clue at all.

Thanks in avance for your help

As far as I can remember the way to ideally set your speakers is to draw a triangle from your seating position to the left & right speakers. The ideal distence apart for the speakers is with the angle from your seat being at 60 degrees.
When setting up a system in the average livingroom this is often not precticle, so just get as close as you can to this.

Mark.

Tadin,

How do you like your Eltax Planos? I'm thinking about getting this kit myself...

Had them up for a while now, and must say I'm very impressed.

Good clear sound, very nice sub woofer, and great looking next ot my silver Panasonic plasma screen.

I'd recommend them to anyone.

Some question since I'm interested in buing Eltax Planos 5.1.
Can I use the Eltax Planos 5.1 without external amplifier?
I.e. shoud I connect the the DVD player to the Subwoofer and the Subwoofer to the Satellites?
You'll be kind if you post a picture of the rear of the Subwoofer
Tnx

You will need an Amp to use these, theres nothing on the back of the Subwoofer to drive the rest of the speakers.
