what you guys think of these?

    http://www.leconcepts.com/spkr/eltax/chroma.htm

at £300 they look great, I heard they used to be double that price, they also look like a good match for a pio 436, my questions are...

    1. Does anyone have any experience with them?
    2. Does anyone know another site where they are cheaper (leconcepts will pricematch).

let me know asap guys thanks.

I think they do look very snazzy :) The seem a good pick up for the price. I have never heard them but enjoyed my time with my old Eltax speakers and still run 2 pairs of the HT2 bipolars :smashin:

The Acoustic Energy Evo package is £340.
I seriously suggest you try those.

    Package I mean consists of:
2x Acoustic Energy Evo 3 Floorstanders
(What hifi best speakers under £500 award)
    2x Acoustic Energy Compacts
    1x Acoustic Energy Centre Speaker

I have a set of Eltax downstairs at home (matrix/hollywood? - not sure), and the Evo's walk all over them on a whole new level.

    Regards,

    Dan.

Avail in 3 colours. Black doesn't catch my eye.

Check my sig, I have the same, except the bigger Evo Ones at the back.
Bought in light maple. Matches my furtniture.

Lovely sound and for the price they're a steal.

Can be bought for £340, but think superfi seem like a good supplier and for £10 extra can't go wrong.

Can get the speakers from Sevenaoks, who should be able to provide you with a demo if you're interested in purchasing
Only thing is that they don't sell the small rear compacts.
They sell the larger Evo 1 bookshelf speakers though, but the 5 speakers would set you back £480 in total. (inclusive of the more impressive Evo 1's)

Or you could Demo a set of Evo 3's, 1's & centre, then if going to buy, then buy the Fronts £230 and the centre £120, then get the compacts online for about £40-£50, totalling just under £400

Make sure you get some reasonable speaker wire (test some out at sevenoaks), don't spend too much (say up to fiver a metre) and it should really open up the sound against standard bell-wire

www.sevenoakssoundandvision.co.uk to find your local store if you choose the sevenoaks route

Purchased a few items from there & 100% happy with the experience.

Used to be Richer Sounds customer, but my local store is too packed and never get a chance to demo and cardboard boxes everywhere.

Also now don't stock most the items I look for.

    *****Damn...****

    Okay:
I got muddled up (again). Here's some clarification

    Acoustic Energy Options:

    Option 1:
Bits: Evo 1 // Evo Centre // Evo Compact package
    Price: £350
Desc: 2x Evo 1 (bookshelf speakers)
    1x Evo Centre (Centre)
2x Evo Compact (Small rear surrounds)
    Where?: www.superfi.co.uk (website only)
    Detail Link: http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo-2.cfm/Product_ID/1311

    Option 2:
    Bits: Evo 3 // Evo Centre // Evo 1
Price: £480, but I checked sevenoaks site for demo and spent total
£415 on the speakers. Demo speakers were *Immaculate* &
    boxed
Desc: 2x Evo 3 (Floorstanders speakers)
    1x Evo Centre (Centre)
    2x Evo 1 (Bookshelf speakers)
Where?: Your local Sevenoaks (best price found).
    Demo likely available if asked.
    Details:

    Compacts:

    http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo-2.cfm/Product_ID/1281

Only £40 I think from www.hughesdirect.co.uk (only avail in black & white this model though)
