I have a Sony dab radio that I listen to very occasionally, that runs off a 6v 0.8a mains adapter. This adapter has now failed. I know I can get a replacement, but I was wondering if I could use a 5v usb supply to power the radio, I have a usb lead with the same barrel plug, and I plugged this into a power bank and the radio seems to work fine.
What I need to know is, will this do any damage to the the radio or power supply.

I have a number of adapters, most of them are 5v and 2 amps or above.

As long as you use an adapter rated at least 1A, you should be fine.
Thanks for the reply, the added advantage is I can use it as a portable radio with the power bank, which is also rated at 2a

As above , it will only pull the current it wants not be flooded by excess current if you see what I mean 👍
