Watched this Spanish R2 disc from Nowheredvd last night. Thought it was great:D
Very good PQ/sound and the film is a must for dark comedy fans.
The social observations and humour of the film make it imo - won't go into great detail 'cause you might want to check it out if you haven't already.

I give it :smashin: :smashin: :smashin: :smashin: :smashin:

Am I missing out not having this in my collection?
Not much up on spanish films.

I'm into asian horror in a big way but can you recomend any titles from other countries worth a look.

    cheers m8 :smashin:

Want are the extras ? on the Beast dvd. Is the dvd 16x9 enhanced?
If you liked Beast then you should check out Perdita Durango - by the same director - Nowhere are doing the German dvd which is the only uncut version released (uk version is missing around 20mins) - even the Dutch dvd is Cut.

It has Filmographies, Trailers, Spots, making off and a directors commentry that's all in spanish which I don't speak and as yet haven't watched but contributes to an overall puker disc imo. I'll take a look at Perdita Durango and add to my wish list if it looks appropriate- if it's anything like dotb then it's a must. Shame there's no where to rent these dvd's before you buy. It's like a lot of the asian films- you have to pay yer money take your chance without knowing the content in most- still i've not had a duff title yet to be honest.

If you like your gore/black comedies check out peter jacksons Brain Dead (AKA deadalive in the states). It's amazing what you can do with a ninja priest and a flymo.

Captaineyecatch, you've got a few films in your collection- I thought I was doing well with 400+ titles where do you put them all. Any other pointers on "different" titles.
DOTB doesn't give the aspect ratio but it filed my tv screen on 16:9 subtiltle when playing.

No all released versions of Perdita apart from the German release are cut in some way or another. Perdita is a sequel/prequel to Wild at heart.
    Reviews
Us Unrated release Cut by around 5+mins?
Uk Release Cut by over 20mins?
German release Like the review says not the best dvd quality wise but its the only way to see it uncut.
As for 'Different' Titles depends on what type of movies you are into -gore, horror etc
One spanish movie i would recomend is 'The Nameless' really good horror/thriller based on a Ramsey campbell book (i think?) I got the Very cheap HK dvd from dddhouse.
Theres lots of fun asian movies - Junk (get R1 as R2 is awful quality), Versus R1 2 discer coming july), Guinea Pig series R1, Happiness of the Katakuris R1, Fudoh R1 etc etc
If you want some really Sick and nasty + extreme stuff check out the Red Room series and MU ZAN E ? Not 100% sure on those as have only read bits and bobs on different forums.

not realy into the really sick stuff. Just like to see good original/different stuff to the run of the mill pants from the US.
Things like the devils backbone, The kingdom, Dark Water, Das experiment - good stories executed well.

Same here, not into the sick stuff - I do like a good bit of Gore though eg Guinea pig series, and love all the italian gorefests etc
Other titles i really enjoyed that you may like...
St Johns wort - very good haunted house movie
Uzumaki - Very creepy and bizarre
The Untold story aka Bunman - a True classic and one of the best HK Catagory 3 movies made, Anthony Wong is superb in this. The R1 dvd is best as it has some nice extras, the dirt cheap Hk dvd is uncut (even though it is rated Cat 3 - and was badly cut to get a Cat 3 rating)
Another heaven - great japanese horror/thriller.

"Day of the Beast" is a spiffy little movie. Have it on VHS off C4. Can anyone tell me where I can get a Spanish dialogue/English subtitled DVD from?

Spain. You might want to try and find it on Amazons spain website (if there is one).
