I have a Toshiba 36ZP48 and was wondering if I buy a Sky HD box without subscribing to the HD channels, will i be able to watch the my current sky+ subcription standard def channels in 480p via component? DVDs look great using a progressive scan DVD player but watching Sky via RGB scart and forced progressive isn't as good.

    Many thanks

    Wil

    No.
You can t get sky to have a dvdlike PQ just by changing your connections coz a crappy signal is received by your receiver first of all.
it s not only a matter of resolution.
    It s qlso a matter of bitrate(compression).
Sky uses high compression methods just to provide you with a high number of channels.
The only solution to your problem is to wait till HD arrives which will have not only a higher resolution but it s going to use a difference compression format mpeg4 instead of mpeg2
so theoritically it will give a stunning difference in pq.

I m not very good in english but I hope you understand what i m talking about :)
