The Panasonic E95 does not allow editing of existing recordings while making a new recording – is this limitation common to other makes of HDD/DVD recorders as well?

    TIA.

Philips HDRW720 can + can start burning whilst it still recording

it cant edit a recording that's still in the time-slip buffer - but you can flush the buffer if you really really must

Thanks kherm & JethroUK for the info.

BTW, regarding dubbing and recording, the E95 can start dubbing then simultaneously record or playback, but can't record, then simultaneously start dubbing!

Any reports from Pioneer owners, or any other brands/models yet to be covered?

    TIA.

Don't forget that the E95 can only simultaneously record or playback during high speed dubbing. At normal speed dubbing, neither is possible.
