    Lo all

I took some pics recently that are a bit washed out by the sun.

Can anyone give me tips on how to reduce the glare of the sun in a particular part of the pic. I'm talking group pics with the middle 2 people washed out by the glare of the sun.

I have photoshop and am uber noobie..so be nice :)

    Thanks in advance

    Simon

can you post the pic so we can see whats wrong, some blown out areas wont be able to be recovered as the information is lost...

I presume you mean bleached out. You took the shot with the sun behind the subjects?
If thats the case, as mttym says, the pixel info has been lost. Skilled user might be able to paint in some detail and get away with it.

If, because of the sun, you have a low contrast but you can see most of the info, but its dull, you can use a technique called contrast masking to tone down highlights and increase dark areas.
But without seeing the shot its difficult :(

Always shoot with the sun behind or use Spot AF/AE on the subjects. It might overexpose parts of the image (you dont need) but keep the subjects correctly exposed. :)

the shot with all the people is the one that has the worst 'bleaching' difficult scene to meter for with light and shade, plus the sun reflecting off the white outfits, not really much you can do with that, the other shots dont look too bad, but they need a bit of a boost, up the saturation slightly in photoediting software to bring the colours out
