Anyone point me in the right direction with regard to buying an economical printer preferab;ly an all in one scanner/copier .

I have had myfingers burned in the past with lexmark whos cartridges cost more than actually buying a complete new printer with cartridges.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

Sorry to hijack your thread, but it is kind of on the same lines.

I buy all the techie stuff at work and have loads of Epson printers, but they go through ink so quickly. I only get them because they are dirt cheap but would happily pay more if the ink cartridge life/price worked out better. Does anyone have any ideas for decent quality inkjet printers for business use that give good life on cartridges?

Why don't you use a C.I.S (Continuous Ink System) with the printer? Can save up to 90% of the cost against the cost of buying new cartridges. Very cost efficient if you do a lot of printing.

    HP C6180 All-in-one

Auto doc feeder, flatbed scanner 4800x4800 optical resolution, Wi-fi and Ethernet built in, 2.5 inch colour screen built in, fax with 120 page memory, separate ink tanks (black, yellow, magenta, cyan, light magenta, light cyan), built in card reader for all common formats, inc PictBridge compatibility

Photo print quality with no cart swapping, wireless printing, PC less printing and copying. And it looks smart too! Oh and it uses HP's patented ink recycling system to cut down on wasted ink (something Epson need to note with their printers wasting loads of ink each time they're switched on)

The best all in one I've had so far - £163.00 from PC World
