I have just burned a dvd-rw of a home movie, i then put this into my Eclipse DVD-595 player which couldn't read the disc.

The player then brought up an obscure menu to the effect HD/FW upgrade, thinking i was trying to upgrade the firmware :(

Two seconds later my machine turned off and is now completely dead.

Does anyone know how i can reset the firmware on this machine,
taking into account i will probably have to open it?

    Yours Disparingly.

Don't open it you'll void any warranty, assuming you have one. In which case why not contact reseller?
Homepage in owners documents for possible contact/firmware?
Tried putting dvd in and restarting to see if spin up cancels state?
No physical reset switches onboard any where?
Richer Sounds do Eclipse, may be they'll have advice?
