Hi, the sound on my wife’s Samsung N130 notebook is distorted. Basically if I play a film or Music it sounds like you are in a church as it echo’s so much.
It also sounds the same if using headphones and is for all sounds from all sources, i.e. films using VLC, Music using windows media and YouTube. I’ve already spent hours trying to rectify this by changing the settings on the sound menu etc. My brother in law, an IT manager, also spent an hour trying to fix it but to no avail.
Now I’m not a tech person but I’m pretty sure I turned off automatic updates on this laptop when I first got it as updates on my other laptop caused problems. How do I turn updates on and will an update likely help.
The notebook has XP running, if that makes any difference

Thanks in advance and sorry for the ramblings
