The prices on Ebay have dropped a fair bit this week. This item looks a steal but maybe dodgy? Dunno how to link but item no. 200060822889

Wouldn't touch it. Looks like a scam.

Bank Transfer? What have you got to hide?

No 'real' picture? Why? Too lazy or just not there?

Fuly boxed? Oh, ok, your command of the Engrisssh ranguage is great, respect my good fellow.

Only way I would buy that is with cash, face to face.

It depends if you want one before Xmas I suppose. Else, you trawl every site ad infinitum, hoping to bag at rrp.

In my eyes, a good balance between some who has and someone who hasn`t.

Now that IS a bargain. :D

I don't know how old many of you are on here - but I remember (when I were a lad :D ), in days of old when the internet was all command line ftp and even before that when we had BBSs....

Well, remember import consoles? Remember the Megadrive, the snes, PCEngine? Neo Geo? Remember the console importers and the margins they worked to?

I bought a MegaDrive and Super Shinobi (Jap) for 400 quid.

My SNES was 450. I paid 175 for a Gameboy1. How about my NeoGeo? Holy smack, that was about 700 quid. The games were 250.

What we see today on Ebay is nothing new. I have paid heavily for consoles in my youth, now I find it better to be on the side of supply than the side of demand :)

    Financially, anyway :D :D :D

Hum.....when someone has a private auction it's ripe for shill bidding. I am not saying that's happened in this case, but it does happen.

Have you actually ever used Ebay before.

There will be nothing like £50 in charges from a £230 final sale.

Assumed Paypal is used, theres about 30-35 quid profit there.

I think thats good for both parties. A reasonable profit, 15 point margin and a reasonable price for the buyer.

If I could guarantee a revenue stream that offered 35 pound on every unit sold, I would stop what I do now and start that business tomorrow.

I wonder what margins the shops make. I read somewhere that Nintendo wanted price it at ~£99 but retailers weren't happy with the profit margin.

EmmaW: Look for auctions ending 23rd/Christmas Eve that are nearby to you (you can search by distance)and ask the seller if you can pick it up with cash.

I would look between 6pm and 9pm today/tomorrow. There is glut of them listed at this time so prices are lower.

Just bought a wii off eBay with sports, zelda and COD3 for £250 (here). Yeah, I know it's almost definately a scam but I emailed the seller offering to collect and pay cash so I can't loose. They are asking for payment through bank transfer so if it is a scam someone could loose a lot of money, and just before x-mas.

I'll keep you posted on any further developments:)

I will tell you guys how much mine will end up on ebay.

I originally wanted to trade my very own

wii bundle(wii + wii play + 2000 points, this bundle would actually cost me £250+ by the time is it delivered to the potential trader)
    FOR
cash£200 + nice gamecube system (typically sells around £75+, both here and ebay)

in the trade forum but apparently it is against trade forum rules and thread got deleted. I shall respect mod's decision and will not take on any offers for trade from here. :(

I am now left with ebay to get a decent GC system from my wii bundle.

From what I can see on ebay trend, the system may sell for more in the morning, after people fail to get one the day before. So any spot pricing is not very accurate.
