eBay managed payment.

Has anyone recently sold anything on eBay using the new payment system?

I've sold a few stuff from £100- 1000 without issue. Normally get paid a few days once I've uploaded the tracking number.

Sold a high-value item on eBay (£2500) and the payment is on hold. I've been told that it could take up to 30 days to get the funds. To speed it up I would need to upload the tracking number and get the buyer to leave a positive feedback

The buyer received the item today and left me good feedback. Contacted eBay again, and still, I'll have to wait 30 days to get the funds!

Their excuse is the value of the item is too high.

How can this be legal? I've spoken to them and they're saying to read the terms and conditions.

I've read it and it doesn't say for certain how much the item needs to be before it's held. It just says for "high-value" items the funds might be held for 30 days. It doesn't specify what value is seen as high value. I've sold high-value items in the past few weeks and funds were released without issue.

I’ve not had this happen on the new eBay system but it was fairly common when using PayPal. Not much you can do unfortunately.
