Just been to CEX where I was made to look a complete tit when the girl behind the counter told me that my Breaking Bad Season 3 + 4 DVDs were shady. Tbh I thought season 4 skipped alittle in places but I watched them both. Now what do I do cause Im now stuck with a fake I can't trade?

I have looked at returning the item but I bought them back of Nov and only just got around to watching them so am I now goosed or can I raise an issue in Ebay/Paypal.

Before somebody states the obvious. Yes I know I have watched them and was happy up until I came to trade but I paid for originals at the going retail rate. How do I know what Ive watched is the full season with extras. For all I know I could have missed loads of stuff.

    You're stuffed I'm afraid...

Chalk it up to experience. Ebay/Paypal won't be interested this late on. You can register a complaint, but it won't be a help for you, might help future "punters".

Could there be any chance CEX is wrong? I mean she was trying to look at the DVD through 2kg of metal on her face. Could I try another CEX?

Looks like the best fake I've ever seen.

She scanned the case then looked at the disc then took it to her manager and then brought it back and said the BBFC sign was fake??? Don't know at what point she thought it was iffy. Maybe it didn't scan I dunno really I was too busy sinking into the floor while the 10 people stood behind me all whispered into their sleeves like I was some criminal passing dodgy notes or something lol

Hmm they do have a large number of Season 4 in-stock in that store and the trade in price is high. Either way she wasn't going to accept it so I may try my look with another store on Mon.

I've looked on the Bay and there seems to be 3 different types of cases all holding 4 discs.

    1. Is 2 slim-line cases with 2 discs in each.
    2. Is a standard case with 2 disc on either side of the case when its opened
    3. Is a standard case with 1 disc in either side of the case and 2 disc in a centre piece.

Does it seem strange that one dvd has so many different packaging varieties?

^ Not strange, it's not uncommon for the distributors to change casing. This is to reduce costs, the early buyers usually get the more expensive packaging and re-release boxsets are sold with cheaper packaging, also at a reduced price.

Also try typing the bar code number into the search box on amazon. Of course it's possible to copy but in my experience with eBay fakes, the code will either be false or relate to a foreign version.

Do you know if the dvds are region free? That's another common trick, as most popular American shows don't make them region free.

Yer tried both trying to match the packaging and bar code on Amazon but it doesn't shed any light. The bar code matches and the front cover looks the same.

But not to matter as the Ebay seller got back in touch and I now have to mail it to a freepost address in the UK as it appears the disc actually was sent from Jersey/Guernsey. They are offering a full refund as they don't have any other stock which I have accepted.

A friend bought a box set on Ebay and only found out it was fake when he tried to rip and add it to his server using MakeMKV and it threw up a few errors, which would not show when done with an original.
The seller refunded quickly when questioned and didn't want the box set back.

usually just look on the reverse of the disks. pure silver = made in a factory. blue/purple = burned cd/dvd

or do you mean its a professional fake? so pressed but not official?

if so odd its a skipper, as should be a 1:1 copy and same as original one?!?!
