    Check out this ebay auction..

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XBOX360-XBOX-...26755087QQcategoryZ112848QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

At £300 with 9 days to go,i dread to think what price the winning bid will be.

But i say goodluck to the seller. If he is going to take advantage of desperate people who are willing to pay over the top prices just to get it on day 1, then soo be it!.

Any guesses on what you think the final price will be???

i don't think he'll get anything for it come paytime, i mean just look at his feedback score 57% hardly the sort of person your gonna trust with £300-£500 pounds, let alone whether he'll actually post the console at all.

    Talk about dodgy.

So £300 + £75 p&p and you might just get a receipt....seeing as thats all he is selling, I doubt you could complain if he didn't send the units.

Thats about right i would guess for secure packaging.

I recently paid 80 gbp to get my pc (components, i.e. mobo, disks etc) shipped safely from London to Nurnberg.

So really, thats prolly a cheap safe shipping rate.

Can you believe i actually forgot it when emigrating! :rotfl: Left it under a desk.

I don't personally approve of artificial stockpiling like this, but if people are silly enough to pay over list then more fool them.

I know someone who';s a millionaire and pretty smart with money, yet he paid 15k extra to beat the list on his Lamorghina Gallardo!

So people paying 50-100 to beat the PS3 wait doesn't suprise me.

    Jeez!
Thats the start - in Dec it will be very interesting to see what sort of prices these will fetch. I just hope there arn't too many people failing to receive their pre-orders. I get a feeling MS are trying to get a huge launch and create mayhem (they seem to have done that!).

I for one will not be buying from these buggers in the event of a non delivery!

    Cheers

Anyone noticed at the top it says will post to UK, US and Canada and near the bottom it says post to US and Canada only? I really hope someone from the UK doesn't win that cos £75 postage + VAT etc when it gets here + the bid price, OMG surely somebody wouldn't pay that much!

Might also get screwed for VAT as well! Therefore £400 + VAT = £470+£75 delivery (not sure if you add the vat also, but doubt it...) £545 as it stands...

I wonder if the prices will go daft on these auctions and end up ultimately failing to sell at this early stage. I can't believe any serious bidder who knows that the 360 exists (i.e. excluding the average parents just now) would be dumb enough to put £400 down for what is just a pre-order place just now on a £279 console. For all this guy's bold claims in his auction, he really can NOT guarantee that the winning bidder will have his Xbox dispatched on release day.

It's not unheard of for auctions on eBay to gather momentum through being linked from popular forums and news web sites/blogs to the point where ludicrous bids creep in and before you know it, someone has bid £1.2M for an Xbox 360

Selling a 360 on eBay a few days before release when hype and anxiety are at their peak is one thing but to sell a deposit receipt to someone in another country 6 whole weeks before release... That's just stupid!

    Cheers,

    Colin

See my previous post in this thread regarding the postage. I just paid 80gbp to get *secure* and *safe* postage from London to Germany for a similar weight package.

Seems a fair price to me for peace of mind. (the postage not the console :D )

Surely you could buy the core system and add all the extra bits. the core system is not sold out and with the extras it would only take it to around £400 max anyway wouldn't it?

Have a quick look on the Xbox360 consoles category on ebay.co.uk, you'd think that for an Ebay employee it'd be like shooting fish in a barrel to get rid of all those pyramid and marketing schemes.

He's listing it on ebay.co.uk, so some poor soul's going to pay over £500 (after VAT) and then his game's aren't even going to work on it.

In an independent games shop by mine, they have a poster up showing how much they will give you for certain items that you trade in.

To my surprise today, as I walked passed it they had a price for a 360.

Now bearing in mind that it is known to be stingy in giving you a decent price for
your trade ins, they are offering £360 for a console

So I can only imagine how much they will be going for on ebay.

But does this also highlight a severe shortage of stock for stores as they know they can sell them on for much more when parents go christmas shopping?

Well if I get one at launch and they are making £500 on Ebay it'll be a tough call to keep it..........

For a free couple hundred squid I can wait till after Xmas. Especially once I've had a go on PGR3 for a day.
