    Hi,

What is the general consensus with buying memory cards for digital cameras on Ebay? Is it a no no because it can be a bit dodgy with getting sold rip offs?

Seem to be able to get xD cards fairly reasonably.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

WOW, Ebuyer is VERY good value, thanks for the link.

No other tips I suppose for high capacity rechargeable batteries?

I've bought quite a few packs of 8 * 2400Mah NiMh rechargables from Ebay - cost about £7-8/pack plus postage, total £9.98 or so.

No problems with deal or product

Ah, ok. I saw the ones on Ebay, but was not sure if they would be good quality.

Do batteries not really need to be 'brand' names? Are they all much of a muchness?

    Thanks.

I get my batteries from 7 day shop, mainly for use in my canon flash.
Bought this the other day http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=99120 - pretty good value but the charger is slow. Will do for a spare. As for brand names - i never bother, no-name ones seem to do the trick just as well.

As for memory off ebay - use your common sense and you should be safe. Buy from established sellers and check the feedback on simlar items. You can certainly save a few quid especially if buying the more expensive faster cards (Ultra II, Lexar 80x for example)

I've never had trouble using ebay apart from once being sold some fake diesel trainers - i emailed the seller saying i wasnt happy and my money was refunded. It got him a negative mark against his name though.

    Hi,

Thanks for the tip. I found this charger on 7dayshop and it charges batteries in 2-4 hrs, which should be fine. However, would I be able to leave betteries to charge overnight with this charger? I understand that they can get pretty warm.

    Thanks,

    Mark.

I bought a 2Gb 80x Compact Flash card on ebayf or my Sony DSC-V3. I ordered it before christmas for £110. Arrived as promised and as advertised and i can now store 600 photos at 7mp and highest quality mode. Took about a week and a half to to arrive but it was right over the christmas period.
