Current set-up (elderly-disabled couple)
Office upstairs in big house -PC attached to huawei router and runs internet via Ethernet/Talk Talk. Wireless available but only works upstairs.

Tried same router downstairs and wireless works fine.

I have a spare D-Link DIR 615 Wireless N 300 router, an old laptop (lousy wifi) and Ethernet cable- could I set them up downstairs for them to use wired internet?

Ideally they would like 2 things:
1. Browse internet- happy with Ethernet cable
2. Occasionally needing wireless for visiting family (who have wifi laptops etc) (But not essential)

If so how do I accomplish these? I need easy steps please..if someone is willing ;)

Hi Mike,

I'd already seen and read this thread before posting but I don't understand it- that's why I asked for simpler help
