I know there are loads of TV experts out there, so this'll be easy...I want to buy a 28" TV. All it needs to do is deliver 3 or 4 channels from the aerial on the roof, and not stick out 2 miles at the back; otherwise I'll be in a veto situation from the trouble-and-strife. I'd also like to be able to plug in a DVD player, and would welcome comments on a TV/DVD combi if appropriate. Home cinema? not a chance...Budget? £500-750?

    Does 1 stand out?

    Cheers chaps!

    Hi There,

I think you would be suprised, you can probably get a 50hz, 28" widescreen and home cinema package within that price range.

Just had a look on comet web site :-

    http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/136964.html

But shop around for the best prices using pricerunner.com.

Alternatively you get get a Sony KV28LS36 for £420ish and a Sony DAVS550 for about £300.

There are quite a few different options really. Best to trawl thru' a few websites, try empire direct etc.

Not sure how deep 28" sets are, probably all pretty much the same size.

    Hope this is of assistance.

    Regards

    Paul

Comet may be useful in giving you an idea of what you are after, but having bought my TV for 600!! pounds cheaper at a dealer (RGB) than it was in Currys (no chance of a price match), I would follow PaulJ's advice and definately steer away from actually buying from a high street retailer.
