Anyone played this on the PS2?

Is it just me or is it impossibly to score runs without getting bowled out for a miserable total (ie under 50) !!

If only it had the physics and playability of Brian Lara cricket, it would be the ultimate cricket game !

Set the difficulty to easy firstly.
Don't try and hit big shots every time.
Avoid playing shots straight down the wicket, you'll get caught by the bowler.

Any ball outside off stump pitched halfway down must be hooked or pulled to the leg side using power shot button.

Always use the power button R1 or L1 (can't remember which) cover drive to the offside when playing spinners, when the ball is pitched on a good length.

When Bowling, aim the ball on the batsmans leg stump, and put catchers in the slips and backward point and gully.

I get loads of wickets that way.
My current score is 324 in my 1st innings as England all time, v England currently 25 for 4.
    Sound familiar?

    I hope this helps.
Rich,( Sussex for the title,) tee.

Putting the ball right at the batsman's feet when bowling helps, I tend to get a lot of wickets with left arm spinners, and they don't have to be good... Darren Lehman for example took 6 wickets for 4 runs for me once....

When batting, play safely at first, the batsman will start to hit the ball cleanly the longer they've been in. Look at the fields and play to the gaps, with almost every computer field placing there are runs to be had, you just have to have patience.

I guess I was just so used to hitting sixes and fours in Brian Lara cricket that this game took me by surprise

sure can't get away with those slog shots in this one!

Here's a great cheat to get you going and it works!!!

Select INSIDE EA SPORTS from the main menu.
On that screen (credits, season preview),Press R2,CIRCLE,L2,R1,SELECT, to see a message.

During play press L1 for a power shot, the batsman has a massive bat and you'll nearly always get a six.

Let me know how you get on.
    Enjoy!!!!

    Rich Tee.
