    Hi

I have needed to start a new post as my post

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244830

Doesn't now relate to the issue.

For some reason my E85 is now rebooting on the first time I insert a disc's or try to format a DVD-RAM.

Also this happen's when I am recording on high-speed dubbing which is why I had the other post.

Have I got a faulty machine or just need to try and do a firmware update?

    Thanks

Ok, I've think I've sorted it.

I opened my recorder up and made sure everything was ok, which it seemed to be.

I then connected the recorder back up and now everything works.

Maybe I just needed a 5 minute powerdown which must have reset memory like PC's have things left in memory until you do a hard power off.

    I have burnt a DVD-R and also to a DVD-Ram.

    Thanks

I switch all my dvd recorders off at the mains when not using them. Panasonics OK because they hold all the info. JVC a pain because I have to reset year, date and time each time its switched off at mains.

Just had the same problem again.

Gonna try and copy what I can of the HDD to DVD-Ram.

But you are right that my latest Ritek disc's make a loud spin noise and then my E85 reboots.

    Thanks
