    Hi,

I'm looking at getting an E85. A big advantage I think this might have is its ability to take an RGB input from a decoder and output component to my plasma (am I right about this?). This would be handy as it would let me cut down the number of wires going to the plasma and sell the bits of kit currently converting the decoder's RGB output to VGA.

Does anyone have any expereince of using the E85 for this? Setup would be Freeview box RGB -> E85 -> plasma via component. The key things that concern me are what the picture quality is like, whether the conversion still works with the E85 in standby and particularly what happens with aspect ratios. Will the E85 rob the signal of aspect ratio information when it does the conversion so that 4:3 is displayed as 16:9, or does it deal with this via another mechanism (like adding black areas to the sides of the picture).

    Cheers

    Nick
