Question "E7" print on a new TV issue...

Hello avforums,

I just purchased this TV: EKO | K50USG | 50" 4K Ultra HD Android TV

Not quite sure where to post my question. It's a very cheap budget TV and just got the TV and set it up. After the first hour, I noticed an imprint on the TV that marks an E7. It's there no matter which source I am using. It's only there when the TV is on. I couldn't find any other information online so I wanted to see if you guys know what it is. You can see from the attached photos.

Thank you

Never seen anything like that before on a new TV - are you sure it's new ? LCD pixels can degrade, but you'd normally need static images displayed for a very long time before this happens.

Could it be an ex-display model ? I guess it's more likely to be a manufacturing defect but, either way, I would take it/send it straight back for a refund. If you go for a straight swap from an actual store, then it will be worth checking the replacement for the same issue before you take it home.

Looks to me like a production label has not been removed before assembly. I believe E7 is a BOE LCD panel production type?

Hmm... You mean could the company recycle LCD panels to make new TVs? Not quite sure... The unit was on sale for au$400, so I bought it. I couldn't find more details about the company, but they have a lot of products in the market. Some people say it's a part of Ayonz. The TV is sold out in all the stores around me, so I might just return the unit.

Production panel? 😅 As in a physical label? The E7 is not there when the TV is off, but it shows in both colour and black screen when the unit is on.

Yes looks like one of those stencilled transparent labels behind the LCD layer hence only visible when back-light is on.
