Has anyone experience of all 3 of these machines?

I'm edging towards the pioneer as i have had good experience of them before also it is also the slimmest of the 3. I would go for the liteon for its "all write" capability but i really only need a bog standard player with one of the formats. The E55 gets good reviews but the thing is MASSIVE and will take up alot of space in my AV setup. Do any of them have any serious reliability issues i should know before taking the plunge?

If you can afford a quality machine forget the Liteon. Its a cheap and cheerful machine, but its dual format is more of a mirage than the Sony models.
The Panasonic should be available cheaper than the Pioneer, but remember its incompatibility with other players thanks to RAM.If thats an issue the Pioneer will be perfect-and as you say,its so superbly slim
