    Hi all,

I've been using my panny e50 for a year with RAM disks without problems - but today I bought some -R's so that I could record something for a mate.

I've noticed that if I record a few minutes of something, then erase it, my available recording time jumps back to one hour (XP). Presumably this is not correct, and the correct available time should read as 57mins ish?

It's not really a problem - but a little confusing. Is this a fault with the panny? Or am I just being an idiot??

    Thanks in advance ....

When you erase something on a R disk it actually still remains on the disk but the information that the drive reads (the TOC, Table Of Contents) is altered so that it cannot be read again. So you loose some available recording area.
