E4 are being removed from TUTV but will remain in the SKY and cable subscription packages until I expect the existing contracts are completed.
I expect TUTV will have a channel to replace it unless like cable and sat you keep paying the same amount for less:)

Interesting if CH4 continues to buy long term PAY rights for all it's US imports and if they will actually put a program on both CH4 and E4 within weeks of eachother like they do for some content now.

Excellent news (if only for ER!)

I can't (AFAIK) upgrade to premium channels with my Humax Box so this is most welcome.

Adding Bloomberg (Fat chance though) as well would be the icing on the cake :)

:suicide: - just gone with a free cable package, dealing with the drop in picture quality and signed up for the year, purely as I missed E4 on Freeview.

Very good news indeed. One day I'll even have a useable signal for my Humax box to watch it on! :)

The only real reason we still have TopUp TV is for E4 and UKGold, talked about getting rid of it last month but as my sis wants E4 we dropped the idea, this way she is still happy and we save £7.99 a month.

I wonder if it will be 'toned down' for Freeview?

Hope this heralds the beginning of the end for top up TV. I read last week they have 100,000 subscribers and need 250,000 to break even. But I reckon the whole lot could switch over to free to view if there is a potential 5 million audience as the ad revenue would be huge compared to that generated by an audience of 100,000 or so.

I think we may get some sky free to view presence before long as I think the freeview audience will overtake sky'd 7-8million in the next 2 years. I'm sure they'll just want a slice of the action. If Topup TV goes then Sky could offer Sky One and a few others for free and then elbow in a couple of pay per view movie channels. However, I guess it depends on whatever agreement Freeview is bound by.
