Yes E4 will be available on freeview from the 27th of May I think it is. It's currently on TUTV but is moving to standard freeview. I'm cancelling my Sky subscription and getting a freeview PVR now and saving myself £40 a month, Sky have had enough money off me! I was already going to do it anyway so E4 on freeview is a nice bonus!

    Cheers
    Andy

Nope, at least not for a couple of years.

CH4 are contractually obliged to supply SKY with E4 as a PAY channel under the terms of their carriage deal. They have compromised and SKY retain E4 within their PAY channel bundles but don't have to pay CH4 for it.

Noticed that the other day, laughed myself to sleep with jo pasquale live (sorry for the spelling)

I wouldnt consider freeview an alternative to sky, its just a nice extra to have in the bedroom/diningroom

The FTA channels such as those from the BBC do not need a smartcard, the FTV (Free to View) channels which at this time are ITV1/2, Ch4 and Five can be received with a "Freesat" card which costs £20, more info here.

E4 will remain within the subscription packages on Dsat(SKY) for the foreseeable future.

It might be better for me to get a freeview box for about £20-30 rather than getting a card,

    cheers from pete
