The biggest gaming expo, E3, is set to stay in Los Angeles until 2015 after the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) signed a new contract.

E3 2013 will take place from June 11th until the 13th and will be 'primarily' hosted in the LA Convention Centre along with LA Live and other venues as well.

There was a recent standoff over possible construction on LA Convention Centre property but this new deal puts an end to it.

The ESA had threatened to move the expo elsewhere if this issue had not been resolved but it has decided to stay in LA.

"We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years," ESA chief executive Michael Gallagher said in a statement.

"The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry's biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA. Video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace and there is no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG."

Gallagher finished by stating, "We felt it was important to remain in L.A. because the city is the entertainment capital of the world. We're very pleased we could make it happen."
