E-sata and external caddy....?

Just a quick question that I think can be answered with a simple yes or no guys....

I want an E-sata external hdd.

Can I just buy a caddy with e-sata connection and put in a normal sata hard drive?

Not to state the obvious either but your computers needs a esata port also.
