Selling my Dynaudio Contour 1.3SE speakers in Cherrywood (along with the rest of my system). Owned by me from new. Generally excellent condition, with a few unobtrusive cosmetic scratches on the cabinets - otherwise perfect.

The Contour 1.3SE is the comparatively rare special-editon version of the 1.3Mk2 with upgraded drivers and crossover - effectively a different speaker built into the MK2 cabinet - and was substantially more expensive when new. A superbly capable standmount.

Sold with the heavy Partington stands they've been on since new. Local collection / delivery strongly preferred due to size and weight. Inspection and audition welcome.

    Price and currency: 500 GBP
Delivery: Delivery cost is not included
Payment method: Cash or bank transfer
    Location: Ascot, Berkshire UK
    Advertised elsewhere?: Not advertised elsewhere
Prefer goods collected?: I prefer the goods to be collected

Neil, I wish I had the space for them.
These are stunning speakers and would retail around £3000 now.
You may want to adjust your price as you are giving these away.
I would have thought nearer £900 at least.

Thanks for your reply Curtis, that's helpful - they're not easy to price as so few ever seem to come up for sale.

They were £1900 new in 1999 so £3000-ish now would be about right. I may do some more research and adjust accordingly!

P.S. I sold my 1.3SEs back in around 2005 for £900 I think when they were less than 2 years old. I miss them! By the way I don't need the stands so you can sell them separately.

They are rare that's why and are highly desired both here and overseas. They are one of the best dynaudio standmounts they ever made. I used to own these as well as the 1.3 and 1.1. I'm tempted to buy them and store them at this price.

Hi Curtis, I recognise their rarity. Perhaps not as rare as my Confidence 3 which took me 10+ years to find, but not far behind. The 1.3mkIIs are still one of my favourite speakers of all time. I sold my 1.3SEs because I couldn't tell much of a difference at the time but I'm itching to revisit them. I hope the OP would honour his asking price despite your intervention (not meant to be a dig, it was fair enough but debatable; afterall the speakers are may be 18 years old. ).

Hi Neil, I have PMed you to hopefully conclude this deal. I have offered full asking price and am happy to give up the speaker stands. I can collect the speakers this Sunday and pay cash.

Sorry GF I'm only trying to help out another enthusiast so he gets the right price for his goods.
I don't see that as debatable to be honest. Seems like you have a similar background to me with dynaudio so you know these are sought after.

Sure I understand Curtis. If I didn't want them I might have made the exact same post as you! Neil, it's your call. I can guarantee a loving forever home for them. :)

Hi Both. Thanks for your messages, they're appreciated. I'm not desperate to get rid and, although obviously nothing is worth more than someone is willing to pay for it, if I have potentially underpriced them by as much as 50% then I should probably reign in my usual impatience to just get stuff sold and take the time to get a better price.

    Apologies GF...

Disappointed but I'll try not to lose sleep over it. At least give me first refusal? I deserve that.

Wow, great speakers with great reviews and just need the right price and an amp to drive them (85db).

When you reprice I may be interested.

@Neil P - Welcome to the forum although not a very good start for you really. Although I appreciate its hard to sometimes price an item a little research may help before listing something and getting a confirmed sale...

I don't expect you to sell your item for considerably less than they worth (although the value of them is questionable??) but a little prior research would help avoid this situation.

@Godfather has flagged this thread and is quite rightly upset this sale didn't go through.

The last set of 1.3mk2's with Dynaudio stands sold for £375 on here. I appreciate yours are the SE version and in better condition but whether they command a £550 premium, I don't know!

I don't want to go down the route of trading bans etc but please in future be a little more careful, this is a friendly forum and I'm sure if you ask the question people will be more than willing to help with giving you a rough guide on what your kits worth.

    Many thanks
