    Hi

I am running a Pioneer AX3i i was just wondering what settings everyone uses for their Dynamic Range Compression: Off, Mid, Max.

P.S This question is not directed soley to other pioneer owners.

When you're in serious mode Dynamic Compression is best set to off so that you get the full effect of the soundtrack. When watching a movie with a lees than impressed wife - "that's much too bassy!" - or the kids, perhaps "mid" may be a better option. At night, when you may be concerned at waking the neighbours, "max" may be the best choice, so that explosions etc. are dampened, whilst centre speaker dialogue is left clear and intelligible. :)

Personally speaking, I always leave my amp set to dynamic compression - off :D

I don't use it at the moment, it's worth noting though that it only functions during Dolby Digital soundtracks.

Off. Using it is effectively changing the soundtrack from what the director intended.
