Yikes I have to say this was not a pleasant experience. To get it to work you need to enable oculus in the video config file (use notepad). Turn off VSync as it produces lots of popping shadows and lines. You have to use a pad or KB and mouse - no touch support.

Sitting was the worse for me mainly as the height setting was messed up and it was like my character was squatting. Standing is a much more playable experience, pushing forward on the joypad and spinning around ala in the doom mod was the less vomit inducing until it came to the climbing and jumping :(:censored:. The menus and the mini map are also very hard to read.

If you already have the game I would say go for it, same goes for if you can get it cheap. I wouldn't shell out the £39.99 current steam price just to try the VR mode.

I have to go lay down now......:thumbsdow

Lack of touch is a given sadly. Without the source code i doubt something like doom 3 could be made and i guess there is a reason why they dropped official vr support despite them obviously putting some work in during development.

I always play these sorts of things standing up however and turn by spinning on the spot. Turning with a stick is a recipie for disaster in vr

Its very immersive, that and the much higher level of detail.
I look forward to your opinion when you try it out.

Might have to try this one later, I quite enjoyed this one but I can imagine it being a bit uncomfy
