Any got some good (free) software to convert dvr-ms to mpeg2 and burn a DVD/CD. Is Cunchie any good? Doesn't have to intergrate into XPMCE but would be nice. THere is this but i don't want to pay!

Can't seem to get it to record onto CD's in DVD format...is this normal? Picked a short recording as a test. Its version 1, is that the problem. I have rollup 2.

Recording a DVD onto CD (miniDVD) is a bit awkward as a CD does not have the same recording density i.e. MBits per revolution as a DVD. So a CD would have to spin a lot faster to acheive the required transfer rate which is up to 9.8MBits/s.
Therefore DVD on CD is very difficult.
