Hi,

If i buy a denon A11 dvd player, can i get a convertor from DVI to VGA and plug it into my Panny 5?

If so is it worth it?

Don't have one but don't think so. The DVI should be DVI-D, ie digital only. The adapters only work on DVI-I which carries digital and anlogue.

Need some help here from the A11 owners club.

My guess is only with something like one of the Lumagens.

Are you sure the Panny can take a 1080i? Even if it can its not a given that it would be a better picture than feeding it at native rate.

Is there a point in getting the A11 to scale up to 1080i when the panny 5 will simply down scale it again ???

I think the A11's DVI output is HDCP encrypted. If so you'd need to check that the DVI-VGA convertor can terminate an HDCP signal and break it out into analogue VGA. I didn't think that was allowed.
