    HI ALL

Just wondering if any one out there has tryed both the DVI and Normal 15pin to connect
their PC 2 their plasma, and seen a noticable change in PQ

This also applies for dvd playing from PC to Plasma

Not a plasma, but the differences between DVI & VGA to an LCD monitor is pretty pronounced.

Sharper by miles, far higher contrast & colour saturation etc...

I'd imagine the differences should be similiar with a DVI equipped plasma display.

DVI to digital projectors (eg. HS10) is also quite a bit better than VGA.

All this is assuming you can successfully send a 1:1 mapped signal via DVI.

The problem with sending VGA to a plasma (or other true digital display) is that VGA is an analogue output signal type (RGB + TTL Hsync & Vsync, AKA RGBHV) .
Thus the VGA signal would have to be converted in to digital (fast analogue to digital converter - ADC) within the display device. The ADC will produce its own errors (linearity & quantisation errors for example) .
DVI - digital out with the correctly mapped/formatted signal avoids these processing errors , resulting in a cleaner output.

There you go wiry, the tech heads here seem to think the same as me. It's the way to go all other things being equal. Had a play with all this with Phil of UVEM and a Pio.503mxe, the results via DVI were truly awesome, and have persualded me to upgrade my projector to a DVI model, been thinking about it for a year or so.
