Does anyone know if I can get hold of a swicth box that I can put both dvi and hdmi cables into that will then go to a single hdmi input on a tv? If they do exist what is the quality generally like?

The problem being I need to potentially connect an xbox 360, ps3 and a computer all digitally and no manufacturers seem to have a panel that would do that many inputs.

Yes but they are currently expensive - wait until you actually have an xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Most/all will not switch the analogue side of DVI-I. Is the xbox 360 digital? There should be no picture degradation - infact some, like the Meridian 421 may actually enhance the picture especially over longer cable runs.

Did read today that the UK XBox 360 bigger pack (£279) will come with a hi-def lead via component connection not HDMI.
