DVI-D or component?

Everytime I think I'm on the right path something else pops-up. I'm awaiting delivery of an AE500 projector and was about to buy a 5m component cable to take advantage of prog scan output from DVD player. Would connection via a DVI-D cable offer a better picture? If so, why? Any cable recommendation(s)?

thanks & regards

No absolute answer at this stage - DVI and HDMI (DVI with HDCP) are both so new in terms of Home Cinema kit that you'll really need to try both interconnect options and then decide; I'd say install both cables as you may want both in the future anyway.

DVI cables are not very expensive - 5.0m Molex cables are sub £50.00 and even higher quality BetterCables Display Magic cables are not much more than £100.00.

Best regards.

Joe

PS Please dont think me flippant I do realise that £100 is a lot of cash for video cable!
