I have a 7.5m Lindy cable which works fine for me. Not sure how well the longer lengths work though:

I'm also looking for good 10m DVI cables.
I read in places that lengths beyond 7.5m are compromised.
    Why is that?

Somebody show us the way to good quality cables?

Speak to Joe Fernand @ Media Factory,I personally had problems with a 10m Lindy which a 9m Better Cables rectified, they are expensive though but IMO worth it.Another alternative is the
Cobalt which is good for 10m.

I think it's meant to be a limitation of the technology:

Though I have seen people saying they have longer lengths with no problems. They may have been on here, but definately over on the US forum.

We sell GEFEN DVI cables (copper, which support resolutions up tp 1280x1024 and 720p) in the following lengths :-

    1ft (0.3m)
    6ft (1.8m)
    10ft (3.0m)
    15ft (4.6m)
    25ft (7.6m)
    30ft (9.1m)
    40ft (12.2m)

Fibre optic based DVI cables (which support resolutions up to 1600x1200) are available in even longer lengths too.

I've never found a DVI cable below 2m but you say you can get 30cm ones. Can you get anything in between i.e 50-60cm so I connect my laptop to my TFT monitor?

The lengths in my previous post are the only ones available, sorry! If you really only want 60cm or so you could join to DVI cables together....

How much is the GEFEN 7.5m cable?

I have just received a Lindy 7.5m cable and it shows sparklies all over the shop.

The Gefen DVI-C25 look like they will do the trick - though I've not tested one as yet; we use and supply most of the Gefen HDTV switcher range though carrying their complete DVI range doesn't make much sense as we already have the BetterCables Display Magic cables which suit most systems and haven't let us down so far (and there's not much in it price wise between Gefen and BetterCables).

    See http://www.bettercables.com/dvicables.html

    Best regards

    Joe

    Waled,

Now for the answer to the question which you asked me!

The 25ft Gefen DVI cable is £141 inc VAT and P&P and they are in stock, as well as all other Gefen DVI and HDMI cable lengths.

Take a look at our web site for further details if you need to.

No worries Joe, was only answering Waled's question, otherwise (as you no doubt have seen from previous posts) prices are not quoted!

The Marcus cable is DVI-I, £74 for 10 meters incl shipping. You won't find any better DVI cable..

is it SL too? I note the cable there for DVI-D is marked SL.

Is there any disadvantage to running in SL mode rather the DL mode if it's within the resolution SL can acheive? Since DL doubles the transmission power, is this also the case at the resolutions within SL boundaries when using a DL cable?
