Grade Discount Minimum yearly purchases(CAD) iPoints
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Base 10% 0 1 iPoint per $1 CAD
    Gold 12% 10 000 2 iPoints per $1 CAD
    Platinum 15% 30 000 3 iPoints per $1 CAD
    Diamond 20% 50 000 4 iPoints per $1 CAD**

    * Minimum sales calculated in reference of the last 12 months.

    ** + $5 coupon, valid for a minimum order of $50.00 CAD.

Promotion valid until december 31, 2005.

now at the moment fidelity card customers get 10% off bettween 4th of march and 31st of march.

i would have asumed by this the 10% you get from their rewards program would be in addition to the march offer of 10%.

tried to do this but you dont, you only get 10% off what ever.

very sneaky, very sneaky indeed. watch those prices creeping up very slowly to make up the 10% they are giving us.

If anyone spends 10,000 cad a year on dvd's then they have more money than sense or a football park sized cupboard to keep them all in.

Would make a lot more sense if it were 1000, 2000 and 3000, and even thats a little extreme, but not altogether unreasonable.

And they have bumped up a lot of the DVDs I was interested in by 2CAD to compensate for the 10%! Very naughty! :thumbsdow

You would have to be a serious reseller to ever spend $50K on one site within a year - but it states in their t & c s that resellers are not allowed

What is that all about? $50k is just crazy. That is above the average earnings of anyone living in the UK per year and TBH, if you could afford to spend that amount each year on DVDs then I am sure the accumulation of i-points would be the very least of your concerns! :rotfl:

Maybe they got the numbers wrong and meant $5k for diamond members? Just a suggestion.

Does the 10000, 20000 etc refer to the Ipoints total?

    It does say:
Grade Discount Minimum yearly purchases(CAD) iPoints

I just looked on the site and it now says this:

    Base 10% 0 1 iPoint per $1 cad
    Gold 12% 1 000 2 iPoints per $1 cad
    Platinum 15% 3 000 3 iPoints per $1 cad
    Diamond 20% 5 000 4 iPoints per $1 cad**

So it was obviously a mistake when they sent the emails stating you need to spend $50,000 to qualify for the Diamond membership benefits. :D

would be easy to get 10k then greg, few films, or a couple of psp games i pre ordered gave me 12,000 ipoints.

I hope your right, if thats the case then 50k would be easy to hit.

Can't see me spending $5000 on DVDs! Thats about £2250 pounds. If you can afford that sort of spend I don't think you would be too bothered with the exta 10% discount!

I've mailed DVD Soon about the following, but still no reply. Can anyone explain this?

Been buying lots of discs from them recently that have i-Points to the value of 2,000-4,600 odd attached to them (over 26.000 points on last weeks purchases alone), yet on checking my i-Points total it only comes to just over 800.

    Anyone???

I notice I'm on 15 % it's a shame they don't show your level or perhaps it's best not to know... I can't be bothered to look at all last years invoices to work it out.

I think it is a bit rubbish, they just put everything up to compensate for the 10%.

Not such a bargain after all....

That's the amount of ipoints you need to buy the dvd's! From now on it's at least 1 ipoint per CA$ depending on your member "rank". 800 seems quite right.

I hope thats the case Dvdbunny. I joined DVDSOON with the I-Card only a few days ago after following these forums and havent had a chance to purchase much (Thought I would see how an early order goes before going hog-wild).

However since that new deal has come in, 24 of the 26 titles on my list have gone up in price, quite significantly. I have yet to see how they are on delivery times, but the impression I get from reading the forums is that they arnt the quickest.

I also can simply not afford to buy such huge amounts to enable further discounts other than taking advantage of the i-card promotion. So, natually im feeling somewhat let-down, but simply trust what you and others have said in that the prices should drop again eventually.

In fact, make that 26/26 on my list that went up in price. Alot of them work out at an extra +£2.50 per title! Thats a heck of a price increase!!

I think you have got it round the wrong way there, the Ipoints total below the item is actually how many Ipoints you would need to get the item, not how many Ipoints you get for buying it. (i think)

Probably recommended retail price minus their discount then minus icard/coupon/combination savings.

I'm happy with 38% can anyone beat it?
