american wedding is out of stock

so the way i see it - i'll receive one package with underworld and pirates

another package when american wedding is back in stock

and two further packages when cabin fever and schindlers list are released.

    so there !

I've just had 2 boxsets come through, both marked at correct value and didn't get hit by customs for either of them.

    Could just be luck though!

How did you get $10 off an order of $128? I thought you had to spend $150 for the $10 rebate? Was that using 'dvdsjan04' code or another?

    thanks

not sure to be honest, and yeah it was the dvdsjan04 code. Hmmm...

Quite good having free first class shipping, although not sure how quick it will be as the standard normally takes three to four days!

There have also been widespread increases too...Star Trek Original Crew Collection has jumped up $14, Starsky and Hutch #1 up $7, Sherlock Holmes #3 up $6, Oz: Season #3 up $5...the list goes on, DVDSoon are becoming very tiresome indeed! :thumbsdow

I think they must use some sort of random number generator to set their prices. But I'm not complaining. :D

You can't argue with the prices on the new releases. I've ordered The Secretary, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Underworld, Intolerable Cruelty and Lost in Translation for about £50.00

I've only seen Underworld but you don't mind taking a chance on a film for £10.00 especially ones like Lost in Translation that's only just hitting cinemas in the UK and is meant to be pretty good.

Underworld is easily the worst film on your list of purchases - have no fear about the others

Each to their own. I thought it was very watchable and worth the £10.

I do like buying films on spec for this kind of cash and have picked up a few good ones over the years like Mullholland Drive, Donnie Darko, Memento, Narc etc

Sorry you misunderstand what I mean - simply that the others are better than underworld, so you should be reassured by your choices

If you've got some time to kill, browse through DVDSoon's giftbox (boxset) list. I found the Street Fighter collection for $21.00 CAN. That's all 4 Sonny Chiba classics, in widescreen, for less than £15. Unfortunately, it's on order, so who knows when I'll receive it.

    No problem Wilber :D

I am looking forward to watching the other 4 - when they ship!

I've noticed they've re-packaged Underworld to ship with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, I hope customs don't get hold of me...

    well then

pirates, cabin fever and american pie come this morning

and so did a request for £9.67's worth of 'duty'.

now, if its alright for firms to move their business to india, so that they can save millions

and if its ok for the dss to contract their overseas mail to a firm based in the philipines, in order to save the taxpayer hundreds of thousands

surely it should be ok for me to save 4 or 5 quid if i decide that i can get better value for money by using the services of a canadian firm?

    shouldnt it ???

    No - rules is rules.

Just stagger your order carefully and you can eliminate any nasty surprises - I ordered 7 dvds last week that will appear over the next month & I'll do the same again in Feb (when I suspect there might be another voucher)

    I'll be ordering:

    Matrix Revolutions 6/4 $22
    http://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?uid=105754

    School of Rock 2/3 $24
    http://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?uid=106191

    Kill Bill 13/4 $24
    http://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?uid=106389

    Spy Kids 24/2 $24
    http://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?uid=105435

    Gettysburg 3/2 $15
    https://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?partner_id=1023&uid=14169

plus a few more like mystic river which should be on their pre release list soon

Just wondering if there is anyone here from Ireland who has ordered off DVDSoon and if so have they had any issues with customs duty. Hopefully duty is no an issue in Ireland as there are quite a few dvd's they have that would add nicely to the collection.

Well it would be nice if they didnt label the prices as before, it pretty nasty of them to start putting actual price on cover, bring back the old days. :(

and hey I have had a few Sonny Chiba box sets from them, and so far all have been scratched to bits, my 5 disk set came the other day, all 5 dvds scratched on both sides of each dvd! its not going in my dvd player!

    and free shipping forever! :)

I see they are doing Schindler's List Collectors Edition (pre-order) for $28 which is about £11.50. Does that seem a good deal?

It was a better deal when it was $23 last week before "free" shipping was re-introduced. Bargins are far fewer than they were last year. That combined with the likelyhood of a customs charge for anything over £18 means DVD Soon will be getting less of my business. I was going to order:

    Pieces of April - was $21 now $23/4 I can't remember
    Schindler's List - was $23 now $28
Total Recall LE - was $11 now $17
One Crazy Summer - was $13 now $15
Out of Sight - was $13 now $17

5 DVDs = free standard shipping last week.

They reintroduced free shipping and upped the prices before I got the chance though so I've only ordered One Crazy Summer. I'll just pick the rest up second hand.
