I've just started receiving dvd's without inserts or inserts without chapter listings.
    8 MILE - No listings
    EQUILIBRIUM - No insert
    RINGU - No insert
I just wanted to know if it was just mine or were these titles meant to be like this because to be honest its a royal pain in the ass.

Buena Vista have started not providing inserts with their DVDs.

Lions Gate have never provided inserts at all.

I always think the DVD case looks a bit odd without an insert. It's fine with transparent cases, but the regular Amarays need an insert or it all feels a bit too bland IMO.

SG I think that is the primary reason they put them in there, asthetic value. Most of the chapter titles contain spoilers anyway chapter 6 "Charlies dead", I mean who wants to know that the charecter that you thought was gonna be the hero dies, takes away the whole point of watching the film (if you havent seen it before that is):).

I agree Shoka. I never look at the chapter listing unless I've seen the film before. Sometimes they leave the chapter listing side of the insert turned up, which drives me nuts as I have to try and turn it over without glancing at any of the chapter titles :(

Lion's Gate are the worst offenders though. They don't have inserts so they put the chapter listing on the back cover in plain view!

Have to add Universal to the list above, who have also started a trend of no inserts. "The Emperor's Club" doesn't have one! (Absolutely fantastic movie BTW if you haven't seen it yet - Kevin Klein is amazing.)
