So far I have had two wives leave me, I have lost my home, several jobs and my cat has ran away, my bank manager hates me, but my credit card companies love me, all because I buy too many dvds.

I think we need to start some sort of support group, where we can council each other and confess our dvd sins and admit our dvd addiction.

So to start the ball rolling...

My name is Marcus and I am addicted to dvds.

I feel much better now, so I am going too bugger off and buy some more films :)

Oh and a confession, I once bough Josie and the pussy cats and really liked it.

MY name is Cheese, I too am an addict!

There does seem to be quite a few of us dvdaholics, it is comforting to know you are not alone.

I am now living in a wheelie bin around the back of a chip shop, so I get to eat the leftovers. I have set up my home cinema system in the wheelie bin by running an extension lead through a back window of the chip shop while the owner was not looking, the 5.1 surround sound rocks although there have been some complaints from neighbouring wheelie bin dwellers.

I am worried about the amount of us that have bought Josie and the pussycats, do you think we should start a new support group for those of us that own this dvd? and are there any other dvds that you feel we need counselling group for?

I know how you feel Justin, as a consequence of buying so many dvds, I have also become addicted to buying shelves.

I now have more shelves than dvds, but not enough wall space to put up all the shelves, I am worried I my become addicted to buying or building walls...

I've been an addict for about 6 years, indeed i'm so addicted i got a job in a video shop to be closer to them and buy even more at cheaper prices. i have to remind myself that:

"I DONT NEED TO BUY EVERY TITLE"
    "I CANT BUY EVERYTHING"
    "I CANT WATCH EVERYTHING"
"IVE GIVEN UP WATCHING TV, I JUST WAIT FOR THE DVD SO I CAN WATCH IT ALL IN A WEEKEND"

Does anyone know when this weeks edition Special collectors DTS edition of the NEWS will be released? i need to find out whats going on in the world.

Whats that you say - my tv shows tv programs!! no it doesnt, it doesn't i tell you!!! it only shows DVD's!!

    Gary

I also own Josie and the Pussycats - i thought it was an excellent post modern ironic comedy. (and tara reid looked really hot!!)

My name is Daftboy and I have a problem.

I am a DVDaholic and can't stop buying new release trash.

I also have a problem every Monday when I am shopping for my Tennants Super at Asda, I make it to the £4.97 isle and load up 3 or 4 DVD's.

My DVDaholic problem is so bad that I waste my money and life on Cocktail, Top Gun, Starship Troopers2, to name but a few of my problems.

My children will not watch my problems and lock theirselves away with DVD's of Balamory and Disney.

My wife locks herself away in another room to watch Big Brother.

Is my problem speading to my children. Are they also becoming DVDaholic's.

Now let's calm down and take it one step at a time.

    I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........I have a problem..........Best go and get LOTH trilogy to resolve my condition.

Well, I just popped out (of work) to buy a snack and accidentally bought 3 new dvds and forgot to buy any food.

What kind of inhuman monsters would open a sandwich shop next to a Blockbuster video store?

This addiction really is bad, but I like it. :)

I once had the mailman deliver 15 seperate padded envelopes with DVD's.He was carrying them and it came up past his chin.

Thankfully I dont have that much money since I'm only 18 so I think its helping me to not become addicted.

    I don't need help, I just need MORE MONEY!!! :D :D

What does it take to qualify as being an addict? I do buy new releases blind, and often find they are crap. I have three different versions of Black Hawk Down (including the 4 disc Superbit on the way). I bought the R2 of The Matrix, then bought the R1, because it's uncut, then bought the R4, because it has an Amray case, and I've never watched it all the way through. I have Reloaded and Revolutions, also unwatched. I also have multiple versions of many DVDs, just to get a different cover, or better extras. I even actually bought Men In Black twice, because I preferred the box with the R1! I bought Stigmata R1, only to find it was cut, so bought the R2, to find that was cut as well. I bought The Cell. But the main reason I think I may be an addict is, I once had a credit card statement, two pages, and there was nothing on it but DVDs!!

You make my puny addiction seem rather pathetic, I am ashamed and will double my efforts.

I was laying in bed last night when I had a horrifying thought that had never occurred to me before - what happens when DVD is superceded by another format?! I have invested thousands in my DVDs and they could all become as worthless as VHS or LD! :( :(

I'm on me way to being a dvdaholic but what gets me now is the
fact when i look at me rotating dvd storage unit with all the dvd's
in i just dont know what film to watch or remember if i've already bought it,in fact it takes me longer to choose a film now then to watch it.

For me half the fun is receiving them in the mail

My name is CooperUK and I am a DVD addict. I have had so many DVDs delivered to my house that the postie has mistakenly brought me someone else's DVD who lived nearby as he assumed it would be mine.

I did drop it off at the correct recipients house though (as it was the R3 version of Kill Bill and I didn't fancy having to switch on and off the subtitles  )
