Hi Antoeknee and welcome to the forum!
I've got and can highly recommend the Pioneer A06/106 DVD writer. It writes to DVD+/-R at 4x and DVD+/-RW at 2x. The newer A07/107 is out and write speeds are double that of my drive (8x/4x) but then again so is the price. At full speed you can write a disk on the A06 in 15 minutes, so not too slow, and 8x DVD-r disks are still expensive compared to a 4x disk. This drive writes disks that are reliable in many DVD players and so far I've had no coasters. It was also recommended as the DVD recorder of the year by Computer Video mag.
The 106 is the OEM version that is just the drive, no software or cables etc. The A06 is the retail version with some very basic software and of course costs more money.
Mark.
