    Hi all

Can anyone recommend a DVD writer -R and +R with a black face plate to go with the rest of my black case?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks nutcase_1uk although that seems a hell of a premium to pay for a black front . There are a few writers listed on ebuyer also, a TEAC and Sony which are much nearer the price of the Pioneer 106.

Anyone else have a recommendation? :(

Not personally but I've read good reports of them in various places.

You may want to look at Overclock they list a black TEAC, no idea of its' quality.

DVDRHelp.com has lots of info about DVD hardware and software, you should be able to find some helpful comments there I would have thought.

    Thanks KRaGorn

The overclock site also listed a black aluminium bezel for my LIAN-LI case so I've also got that option.

DVDRHelp.com also usefull for the comments on this drive as you suggested.

Time to make my mind up now.

    Thanks again. :smashin:

Glad you got some helpful info there .. I did a quick hunt for the bezels but didn't find them.

BTW, if you go to Overclock make sure you go to the right site, there's also an 'overclocker.co.uk' or something similar which is a different outfit and one I don't frequent. ;)

I have the 106 and it is a great machine the only thing it does not do is burn single speed CD-RW but I suppose all the DVD machines do not do that either.

I've also got the Pioneer 106 and it seems to be one of the least fussy burners on the market right now, most DVD burners seem to be rather choosy about what brands of blank media to use, the 106 in comparison seems to like almost all blank media.

Not sure if it's in black though....

Sony do a black version, HERE at £106 from Ebuyer.

Chaps thanks for all your help. I've ordered the 106 from ebuyer as well as a stack of 25 Mirror DVDs and cases (wow 100 double dvd cases for around a tenner). Also ordered the black "stealth" Lian-Li aluminium bezel from overclock so I'm now sorted. Thanks again.
