DVD upscaling to an Hitachi 4200??

Hi,
Will my Hitachi 42pd5200 screen take an upscaled feed from DVD players such as the Pioneer 989, Yamaha 2500 or marantz 7600? If so..is it worth it??

Yes, 1080i upscaled signal to the DVI input of the 42PD5200 set from the remote in the setup menu to DVI-STB

Thanks for that! Is it generally worth spending the extra on a DVD player that can upscale to that resolution?
