Hello all,

Just ordered a new PC for video editing.

It does not have a capture card for analogue footage.

I have a Phillips DVD recorder which I have transferred old VHS stuuf to DVD on.

Is there a program that will let me take clips from the DVD I have burned on the Phillips and save them as files to be edited into other films?

On a similar veign - would the same software allow mw to take snippets from bought movie DVD's to play around with?

Incidently, the PC is shipped with Pinnacle Studio SE. Would this do the above?

Thanks....

I have used dvdshrink to copy .VOB files from dvd, then used NERO to convert these to .MPG which Pinnacle likes. This may not be the best way but it seems to work for the picture (haven't checked the sound yet)

No problem. Had a quick check last night. If it's a NTSC dvd then I needed NERO to convert to PAL for Pinnacle. Sound was fine.
