I have tried several makes of DVD, dvd-/+ dvd-/+rw dvd-/+ dual layer...to try and transfer files (mainly divx files) from dvd to hdd but I keep getting the same message from every dvd.

It will copy from dvd to hdd if I record something from the hdd to dvd...but I thought that this machine would letme copy divx files to the hdd from dvd... but looking at it it clearly doesn't.
