Does anyone know where I can get some decent DVD storage units?

I'm specifically looking for a tower which would hold close to 150 DVDs.

i can vouch for the suggestion made my roadeh, i have 2 of those stands and they work great. But you won't get 175 dvd's on them! contrary to what it says, you will get 32 dvd's in amaray style cases per shelf, using 5 shelves, so thats 160 per rack.

You may also want to get hold of some blank cases to put at the end of each shelf to put in the recess at each end. (I didn't explain that very well but your get what i mean if you get one.)

Don't know what your budget is, but I bought a Spectral CD/DVD storage system last year. Looks nice aluminium and glass, easy to assemble can be floor or wall mounted. I know Loud & Clear sell them if you're looking for a Hi-Fi dealer chain, if you want to buy on line try www.audiphilecandy.com.

I recently purchased 3 x 5 tier pine shelves from Homebase (between £10 & £15 each), they will take around 150 DVD's per bookcase & look nice.

    They come in flat pack

    Good Luck

Any other decent quality and reasonably priced AV storage.
I have about 1000 CDs to house - ideally I'd like doors on shelves or drawers.
Everything I have seen is way too small or way to expensive!

I don't know what your price range is,but you could take a look at my favourite www.boltz.com
I've got a few of their things, including a 600CD rack and 250DVD also...very nice quality, unbreakable(stainless steel),and very fast, free shipping from the US...mine were delivered in under 5 days each,so I was suitably impressed, considering a well known UK rack maker couldnt supply me in under 2 weeks.

They look really good and capacity isn't a problem but they wouldn't fit in in our Victorian house :(
I'm not after anything particularly "olde worlde" but they would have gone much better in our old loft apartment.
    Thanks anyway, anyone else?

I know I'm always on about it, but have you looked at www.jali.co.uk
You can get a cabinet made to your exact specifications. Dowload the tool and have a play.

I have over a grand's worth of Jali cupboards and bookcases built into the room already :) - I posted about them in another thread on here and Jali were also posting.
The cupboards displaced the 8 x 1.4m shelves with all the CDs on them :(
I couldn't get anything like the number of shelves I'd need using the designer tool though if I go that way I expect Jali could make doors for a bookshelf.
I agree it's good stuff but the assembly and painting are a pain - especially as we have a small baby. I was looking for something ready made/flat packed but finished to a decent standard. I really like the idea of drawers but weight is going to be a problem.

I have a room full of Pine. I simply bought a matching pine bookshelf thats 2' x 6'. It holds about 150. Just trying to figure out whether to bung the kids DVDs (40ish) :) in their bedrooms to give me some breathing space or buy another one or simply a wider one...

I've got 3 of the Ikea Benno towers (in oak finish) shown earlier in the thread. they fit together nicely, have a small footprint, and can also be configured to hold CD's or a mixture of both.
for the money they are superb. Worth a trip to IKEA to see them.

Thanks for the thoughts guys - we have 4 Benno shelves for the DVDs in the lounge. I had looked at the towers but was really hoping for something with drawers or doors.
I guess I'd need 6 at £26 each so it wouldn't be that expensive so it's a good back up option.

Anyone else found a really nice CD and/or DVD storage solution?

HI THERE, TRY WWW.SCHROERS.DE, they have english language. The glass DVD racks are stunning but a bit pricy

Cinesom - These racks look marvellous. I've just bought one from the Optimum prelude range but these have bowled me over! My only hope is that these would have been far too expensive for my budget. Do you have some prices you can quote - they don't appear to be on the website.

I went for Leksvik CD cupboards from IKEA. Needed 4 in the end and they looked over powering in the back room so they're in the hall now.
Lots of storage, doors etc. but beautiful furniture they aint.
Next step is to get them all MP3ed and on a server and set up multiroom music - then they can all go in boxes in the basement...

    Click me!

I have one, its fine. However you need an empty case at each end to stop stuff sliding behind the door. :)

I had a look at the website and the on;y thing I found was one stand for 7DVDs, surly there must be something that can hold more than 7DVDs.

In regards to AV Stands do you think WOOD would get less dust than Glass?
