Don't know if you guys can help.

Someone mentioned to me today that discs from different regions can suffer from speed up or slow down when played on Multiregion DVD players.

Has anyone else heard this or am i being wound up terribly?

The only thing I can imagine is the conversion from NTSC to PAL60 or PAL(50) when playing a R1 disc.
Nothing to do with the multiregion mod or the DVD player acutally, but the only way to make it possible to watch R1 DVD on European non-NTSC TVs.

"Someone mentioned to me today that discs from different regions can suffer from speed up or slow down..."

...trust me... that 'someone' was talking out his/her ****...

Any movie on a PAL DVD (Region 2/Europe, R4/Australia) will run about 4% 'faster' (and the sound will be about one-quarter tone 'higher') than the same movie on an NTSC DVD (R1, R2/Japan, R3/Hong Kong)... that is simply a 'fact of life' - the inevitable 'side effect' of the PAL system... it is not something to worry about (you can go mad that way!) - unless, of course, you like to worry - some people do...

...for detailed information, go to a FAQ site, e.g.
http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html
