i stopped buying singles years ago, they just became stupidly expensive. however, the advent of the dvd-single got me interested again. it always seemed a shame that there were these great, and expensive, videos made that you only ever got to see a handful of times. but i'm going off them again! a remarkable number of them don't contain the actual video of the song! surely this is the whole point of the thing? while many are widescreen, only a handful are anamorphic. i don't realistically expect a lot of 5.1 mixes, but they could use pcm audio, which sounds better than dolby digital stereo. what i'm trying to say is that this is a great format with the potential to revitalise the singles market, which is being fudged by careless labels.
